   Rose Keller returns to the Pacific Northwest with a shattered leg and a past she cannot outrun. Once a dancer and striving choreographer crossing Europe in pursuit of her art, she now moves with crutches, carrying a secret from Mumbai that has reduced her life to a single, desperate fact: survival came at a cost she’s still calculating.

    On an rainy island in a remote cabin owned by an ex-lover whose politics have turned militant, she finds herself suspended between the relentless drizzle of the present and the vivid, violent memories that rise to meet it. As old bonds resurface—a stepfather bearing guilty gifts, a roommate with her own quiet grief, and the looming, glacial presence of a giant boulder behind the cabin—Rose must confront what it means to come home when home is no longer a place of refuge, but a stage for one last, impossible performance: the choreography of a life rebuilt from ruin.
